2015년 이후 시골이나 도시와 같은 특정한 사회적 배경과 그속의 사람들을 관찰하여 풍경 가운데 나타나는 사회적 시선이나 삶의 이면을 표현하는 작업을 해왔다.

최근에는 도시와 사람들을 주제로 작품활동을 하고 있다.

목탄으로 작업하는 정지현 작가는 아주 사소한 관심이나 어떤 것을 그리고자 하는 욕구에서 출발한다. 주로 주변 일상이나 풍경들, 그리고 사람들을 소재로 작업하고 있다.

옛날 신문이라는 곳에서 우연히 발견한 이미지 형식을 차용해서 작업한다.

인물은 옛날 흑백사진으로 되어있고, 인물의 배경이 되는 부분들은 푸른색으로 되어있어서

흑백과 푸른색의 조합이 굉장히 신선하게 느껴진다.

Working with charcoal, Jeong starts from the slightest interest or desire to draw something. He mainly works on everyday life, landscapes, and people around him.

He borrows image formats from old newspapers.

The people are in old black and white photographs, and the backgrounds of the people are in blue.

The combination of black and white and blue colors feels very fresh.
